If you love English and the magic it brings to a classroom, this could be a brilliant next move. We’re looking for a full-time English Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary setting on a fixed-term basis. This is a maternity cover role running until January 2027, with the potential to end sooner depending on the postholder’s return.

What you’ll be doing

Delivering engaging and well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4

Taking full responsibility for planning, teaching, assessment, and progress

Meeting the needs of a wide range of learners, including pupil premium, looked-after children, SEND students and high attainers

Building strong relationships with students, staff and families

Contributing to a collaborative, ambitious English department

Supporting enrichment and opportunities that spark curiosity beyond the classroom
What we’re looking for

A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)

Someone who consistently delivers high-quality lessons and loves their subject

A strong communicator who can motivate students and colleagues

A teacher who embraces change, brings fresh ideas and is keen to grow
-
Someone confident across the Teachers’ Standards, including at UPS level where applicable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
