A nurturing primary school in Gateshead is looking for a SEN EYFS Teaching Assistant to support children in their early years unit. You’ll be working with pupils who need a little extra help with communication, emotional regulation and learning through play. The school is friendly, welcoming and genuinely values calm, compassionate support staff.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for children with additional needs

  • Helping pupils feel safe, connected and ready to learn

  • Using visuals, sensory tools and simple communication strategies

  • Supporting routines that give structure and confidence

  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external specialists
