SEND Support Worker - Chippenham

Protocol Education are working alongside a SEND school in Chippenham and are looking to appoint nurturing, adaptable and experienced EYFS/Nursery Staff.

Due to the complex needs of the students, the school takes on a very holistic style to learning, much like EYFS and Nursery. Therefore, people with experience in these settings, who may be looking for a new challenge would be perfect for this role.

The School

Students in the school range from the ages of 4-16 and all have a wide range of SEND. Some of the needs are, ASD, PMLD (profound and multiple learning disability), Complex Needs, Mobility Issues, Speech and Language.

Many of the students use speaking aids and mobility aids, with classrooms being equipped with hoists.

Staffed by a highly creative and dedicated team of teacher, teaching assistants and therapists who are skills in ensuring all pupils access an exciting and relevant curriculum. The school is extremely supportive to both its students and staff.

The Role

-          Support class teacher in general running of the class

-          Support students in accessing learning through various techniques suited to individual needs of students

-          Be adaptable to changing environments and plans

-          Work collaboratively with class room, and wider school teaching staff

-          Support students around school ensuring everyone is safe

-          Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures

The Candidate

-          Experience working in an EYFS/Nursery/SEND environment

-          Understanding of EYFS education – phonics

-          Experience in manual handling and personal care – or willing to learn
