Job Duties

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons to children in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assess and monitor individual student progress
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff
  • Communicate with parents/carers about student progress and behaviour
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain discipline
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a classroom
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience

Previous experience teaching in an Early Years setting

Knowledge and Skills

  • Thorough understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
  • Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and assessment methods
  • Proficiency in using technology in the classroom
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in Early Years Education
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Additional certifications or training related to Early Years education

Working Conditions

  • Work in an educational setting, primarily in a classroom
  • Regular working hours, typically Monday to Friday
  • Occasional attendance at evening or weekend events
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviour or emotional situations
