A lovely special educational school in Gateshead is looking for an EYFS SEND Teaching Assistant who can bring patience, warmth and a nurturing approach to their early years team. If you enjoy helping young children feel safe, understood and ready to learn, you’ll feel right at home here.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be supporting pupils in the EYFS who have a range of additional needs, helping them make sense of their routines and develop early communication and learning skills. Every day is a mix of play, structure and meaningful moments.

Your role will include:

  • 1:1 and small-group support for children with SEND

  • Helping with communication, sensory needs and emotional regulation

  • Using visuals, structured routines and play-based learning

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCO and specialist staff

  • Celebrating every tiny milestone, because they all count

Who the school is looking for

  • Confident supporting pupils with SEND or happy to learn

  • Patient, observant and responsive

  • A reliable team player who communicates well and brings positivity each day

Experience in early years, SEND, care or similar fields is very welcome.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
