Are you a calm, confident, and caring Teaching Assistant who thrives in specialist settings?

We’re working with a supportive SEND provision in the Sunderland area looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. The school caters for children and young people with a wide range of complex needs, and they’re looking for someone who’s as patient as they are proactive.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with complex SEND

  • Assisting with personal care routines and physical support where needed

  • Supporting learning through communication aids, sensory activities, and structured routines

  • Using hoisting and mobility equipment safely (experience with hoisting is highly desirable)

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver individualised plans

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working in an SEND or specialist school environment

  • Confidence supporting pupils with physical or medical needs

  • A calm, nurturing approach and genuine passion for inclusion

  • Experience with hoisting and manual handling (training can be provided)
