About the Role
We are looking for an experienced SEND Teacher to join a specialist independent school in Newcastle, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, and communication or learning differences.
You will play a key role in designing and delivering creative, individualised learning programmes that help every pupil achieve their potential — academically, socially, and emotionally. This role suits a dedicated teacher who thrives in a nurturing, small-class environment where flexibility, teamwork, and strong relationships are at the heart of success.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons linked to EHCP outcomes

Use varied teaching strategies to support communication, independence, and emotional regulation

Create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom using positive behaviour support principles

Collaborate with therapists, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure cohesive provision

Contribute to pupil reviews, progress reports, and target planning
Person Specification

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS) with proven SEND teaching experience

Skilled in supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, or complex learning needs

Strong understanding of differentiation, sensory-based learning, and visual communication supports

Compassionate, adaptable, and confident in managing diverse classroom needs

Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and ongoing professional growth
