Job Duties:

  • Provide support to special needs students in their learning and development.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths is desired but not compulsory.
  • Experience working with children or individuals with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or individuals with special needs is required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • First Aid training.
  • Experience with assistive technology.

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily takes place within a school setting.
  • May involve some physical activity and assisting with personal care needs.
  • Work hours typically follow the school schedule.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
