We’re working with a welcoming secondary school in Wakefield that’s looking for a brilliant English Teacher to join them from January. There’s no fixed end date here, they want consistency, stability, and someone who genuinely enjoys bringing literature, language, and confidence to life in the classroom.

This is a school that values good teaching, backs its staff, and understands that great lessons don’t come from unnecessary pressure or box-ticking. You’ll be teaching engaged pupils, working within a supportive department, and given the space to do what you do best, teach English well.

What you’ll be doing

  • Teaching English across KS3 and KS4

  • Delivering lessons that spark discussion, confidence, and curiosity

  • Supporting pupils to develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills

  • Working alongside a friendly, collaborative English department

  • Making a real impact from day one

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent

  • Experience teaching English in a secondary setting

  • Strong classroom presence and a calm, confident approach

  • Someone who cares about pupils, progress, and great teaching

  • Early Career Teachers are welcome, support is in place
