SEN Teaching Assistant

Leeds
Pay to scale
Start date: January

Some children need a bit more than a desk and a worksheet. They need patience, encouragement and someone who genuinely sees them. That’s where you come in.

We’re working with welcoming, inclusive schools across Leeds who are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to start in January. These roles are perfect for people who believe that progress looks different for every child and that small wins matter just as much as big ones.

The role

You’ll be supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties. No two days are the same, but your impact will be felt every single one.

Depending on the setting, you could be:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support

  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and build confidence

  • Supporting learning inside and outside the classroom

  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to keep support consistent and meaningful

  • Being a calm, steady presence when things feel overwhelming for a child

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to tick every box, but experience or interest in SEN is key. We’d love to hear from you if you’re:

  • A caring, patient and resilient individual

  • Experienced in SEN support, or keen to build your experience

  • Confident building positive relationships with children who need extra understanding

  • Someone who shows up with empathy, energy and a sense of humour

Why work with Protocol Education

  • Pay to scale, always fair and transparent

  • Ongoing work opportunities in Leeds schools

  • Free access to training and CPD, including SEN-focused courses

  • A consultant who actually listens and has your back

  • The chance to make a real difference, not just fill a gap

Not Thrive trained yet? We’ll get you booked onto Protocol’s free Thrive training, a brilliant boost for your confidence and something schools genuinely value.

If you’re ready to start January doing work that truly matters, we’d love to hear from you.
