Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive English lessons, incorporating a range of literary texts and language skills.
Develop students' language proficiency, including grammar, vocabulary, and effective communication skills.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the English curriculum, aligning with national standards.
Engage with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in English, Literature, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification in education is desirable but not essential.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Proven experience teaching English to secondary school students, preferably in an educational setting.
Deep knowledge of English literature, grammar, and language acquisition.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
A passion for English and a commitment to fostering a love of reading and writing in students.
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
