A “good” Washington secondary school are looking to recruit an outstanding English teacher for a long-term role starting in September 2023.

Working as part of the school’s dedicated, passionate, and supportive English department, the successful candidate will be uncompromising in their high expectations of pupil behaviour, attitudes to learning and will responsible for planning, marking and ensuring that all students continue to make good progress within their studies by delivering challenging, engaging and motivational lessons.

Both experienced and Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply for this role within one of Sunderland’s most respected schools.

Successful candidates will also demonstrate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (NQTs are also welcome to apply).
  • An excellent knowledge of the subject.
  • Teaching experience of KS3 and KS4.
  • Effective behaviour management strategies.

Successful applicants will have a DBS on the update service or be willing to undergo relevant DBS checks. Applicants must also be able to evidence their right to live and work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
