English Teacher

The role

A well-regarded secondary school in Northumberland is seeking an English Teacher to join its established department. The role includes teaching across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities available for experienced candidates.

The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature, develop pupils’ analytical writing skills, and drive strong GCSE and A-Level outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons

• Prepare pupils effectively for GCSE (and A-Level where applicable)

• Assess, monitor and track student progress

• Contribute to curriculum development and intervention strategies

The ideal candidate

• QTS (or equivalent)

• Experience teaching English at secondary level

• Strong subject knowledge in Language and Literature

• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
