We’re working with a welcoming secondary school in Middlesbrough that’s looking for a confident, committed English teacher to step in and make an immediate impact. The department is friendly, organised, and genuinely supportive, no sink or swim here.
Whether you’re an experienced English teacher ready for a fresh setting, or an ECT keen to build confidence with the right backing, you’ll be properly supported from day one.
What you’ll be doing
- Teaching engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Creating a calm, purposeful classroom where pupils feel encouraged to try, think, and speak up
- Bringing texts to life and helping students build confidence in reading, writing, and analysis
- Working alongside a supportive English team that shares resources and ideas
What we’re looking for
- UK QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- A genuine love for English and the ability to pass that on
- Strong classroom presence and clear behaviour expectations
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
