We are looking to appoint a talented and committed Teacher of English to join a supportive and well-established department on a fixed-term basis, covering maternity leave. This part-time role (0.6 FTE) offers the chance to make a real difference to young people’s learning while working within a school community that values collaboration, ambition, and professional growth.
The English department is made up of experienced, passionate practitioners who work closely together to deliver an engaging, inclusive curriculum. You will be joining a team that believes in high expectations, creativity in the classroom, and developing students who can express themselves confidently and thoughtfully.
About the role
This role would suit a strong classroom practitioner who brings energy, imagination, and a genuine love of English. You’ll be someone who reflects on their practice, enjoys developing their own pedagogy, and knows how to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
We welcome applications from teachers at any stage of their career. Experience of teaching KS4 Media would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Following a review of staffing needs for the 2026–27 academic year, there may be opportunities to extend the contract or apply for a permanent post.
