Love teaching English but fancy doing it in a school that actually gets it?
We’re working with a welcoming secondary school that’s looking for an English Teacher who knows their Shakespeare from their similes, and enjoys helping students find their voice, on the page and out loud. This is a role where strong relationships, creativity, and calm classrooms really matter.
Whether you’re an experienced English specialist or an ECT finding your feet, this school values great teaching, not box-ticking.

-
Bringing texts to life, from poetry to prose and everything in between
-
Encouraging confident reading, writing, and discussion
-
Creating a calm, inclusive classroom where students feel heard
-
Working alongside a supportive English department that shares resources and ideas
The school:
-
Supportive SLT who trust teachers to teach
-
Well-behaved pupils who respond to consistency and care
-
Clear behaviour policies that actually work
-
Proper PPA time and shared planning
-
A genuine focus on staff wellbeing, not just lip service
What we’re looking for:
-
UK QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
-
Experience teaching English at secondary level
-
A positive, steady presence in the classroom
-
Someone who enjoys building rapport and confidence in learners
-
ECTs are very welcome, mentoring and support are in place
