ENGLISH TEACHER– PROTOCOL EDUCATION

Monday – Friday, 32.5 hours per week

Protocol Education are working on behalf of an esteemed school in South Shields to offer you the opportunity to support and encourage children and young people in their educational development. 

THE CANDIDATE 

  • Possess a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for KS3, KS4 and (preferably) KS5
  • Honours degree
  • Experience teaching English in a secondary (KS3/KS4/KS5) classroom environment
  • Evidence of students achieving excellent exam grades
  • Understanding of standard computer packages and how these can be used to enhance student learning
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Passionate about supporting children with various abilities in a positive education environment 
  • Can demonstrate problem-solving skills when facing challenging situations 
  • Must have, or be willing to, undergo an enhanced DBS check 
  • Committed to ensuring the safeguarding of young people 

THE ROLE 

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons according to the school’s curriculum standards
  • Maintaining student progress records 
  • Providing support for form students’ development and overall progress as a form tutor
  • Contribute to the raising standards of student achievement
    • Managing student behaviour according to the school policy and reporting any issues or concerns to senior staff 
  • Maintaining a positive, encouraging and inclusive learning environment for students
