Protocol Education are partnered with a welcoming and ambitious BS6 secondary school to find talented candidates to become Unqualified Supply Teachers, covering staff absences across the school. The role is for an English specialist to mainly cover this subject, though you will also be expected to be flexible and jump in to cover other subjects. For these instances, you are not expected to be a subject specialist, but to offer strong behaviour management.

What is the role?
Supervise KS3 and KS4 English classes during teacher absence
Support pupils with reading, writing and comprehension tasks
Maintain clear routines and positive classroom culture
Encourage pupil participation and engagement
Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
You will manage the classroom and support pupils with tasks that have already been set — no lesson planning required.

To get you ready to work, we’ll need:
Passport
2 proofs of address (e.g. driving licence, utility bill, council tax, P45/60)
CV covering 10 years of work/education, with gaps explained
2 years of references (recent teaching references where possible)
Overseas Police Check (OSPC) if you’ve lived overseas for 3+ months in last 5 years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
