English Graduate Teaching Assistant

I am recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work within the English department with students with special educational needs (SEN).

This is a great role for an individual considering teaching as a career support, training & progression is provided.


The responsibilities include :

•              Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Head of Learning Support and class teachers.

•              Assist students to learn as effectively and independently as possible, both in group situations and on their own, such as clarifying and explaining instructions and 1:1 literacy support.

•              Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.

•              Support teaching staff in respect of planning, preparation, assessment and administration and to assist in the adaptation of curricular materials.

•              Work with other professionals, such as behaviour advisory teacher, speech therapists and SEN Specialist Support and parents as necessary.

•              To key work identified pupils with a view to monitor and facilitate academic progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
