English Graduate – Academic Mentor / Classroom Support

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Daily Rate: £90–£110

Protocol Education is recruiting an English Graduate to support literacy and learning in a secondary school in Newcastle.

This role is ideal for graduates considering teacher training, publishing, speech and language therapy or education-based careers. The school places strong emphasis on literacy across the curriculum and supports staff development and progression. The site is easily accessible by public transport.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting students with reading, writing and comprehension

  • Delivering small-group or 1:1 literacy interventions

  • Supporting English lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Encouraging confidence and engagement with learning

  • Supporting GCSE preparation where appropriate

We are looking for graduates who:

  • Hold a degree in English, English Literature or a related subject

  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Are confident supporting secondary-aged students

  • Are considering a future career in teaching or education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
