English Graduate – Literacy & Academic Support Assistant

Location: Wallsend, North Tyneside
Daily Pay: £90–£110

Protocol Education is working with a successful secondary school in North Tyneside to recruit an English Graduate to support literacy and learning across KS3 and KS4.

The school places strong importance on reading, writing and communication skills across the curriculum and offers structured support for students who need additional help. The site is well connected via public transport and easily accessible from Newcastle.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting English lessons alongside teaching staff

  • Delivering small-group or 1:1 literacy interventions

  • Supporting reading, writing and exam technique

  • Helping students build confidence with extended writing tasks

  • Assisting with GCSE preparation where appropriate

We are looking for graduates who:

  • Hold a degree in English, English Literature or a related subject

  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Are confident working with secondary-aged students

  • Are considering a future career in teaching or education

This role offers excellent classroom experience for graduates planning to apply for PGCE or SCITT routes.
