A welcoming primary school in Gateshead is looking for a calm, confident Teaching Assistant to support learning across all key stages. This role is ideal for ECTs who want to strengthen behaviour management skills, deepen classroom experience, and work closely with experienced teachers.

You’ll be part of a supportive team that values consistency, strong routines, and positive relationships. From supporting KS1 phonics to helping KS2 pupils master tricky maths concepts, no two days will be the same.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting teachers across KS1, KS2, and KS3

  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to boost progress and confidence

  • Using clear behaviour strategies to maintain a positive learning environment

  • Helping pupils feel safe, settled, and ready to learn

  • Collaborating with staff to adapt learning and celebrate success

Who this role suits

  • ECTs or experienced TAs with classroom experience

  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

  • A flexible, proactive approach and passion for education

  • Experience with additional needs (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
