Protocol Education are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor based in Drama to provide effective coaching the drama department  There is also other subjects that will need to be covered within the school. 

The role includes assisting and supporting the pastoral team and SEND Department when not required for the drama department,

The successful applicants must have good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent organisational skills. Applicants must be able to work independently using their own initiative and as a part of team. 

The Cover Supervisor will be responsible for students throughout lessons and will be expected to fulfil some aspects of the role of the absent teacher. When not actively engaged in the classroom they will be expected to undertake a range of supportive duties.

Applicants should be well educated and have ideally had experience of supervising young people in the 11-16 age range. 

The role includes:

  • Covering lessons in the absence of the timetabled teacher;
  • Supervising the delivery of the cover work by effectively communicating the work set to students;
  • Ensuring that the required resources needed in order to effectively deliver the covered lessons are available;
  • Managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking set work to ensure a positive learning environment;
  • Responding to any questions from pupils about process and procedures;
  • Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with school policy and procedures; and
  • Collecting completed work after lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
