Salary: £140 - 220 per day

Protocol Education is working with a friendly, forward-thinking secondary school looking for a Design and Technology Teacher to join their established department after Easter.

This could be spot on for an experienced DT specialist who wants a supportive team around them, or an Early Career Teacher ready to build confidence in the right environment. Either way, you won’t be left to figure it out on your own.

You’ll be joining a department where ideas are shared, wins are celebrated, and support is real, not just promised. Whether you’re refining your craft or finding your feet, there are clear systems in place so you can focus on what matters most, delivering brilliant lessons.

The role

You’ll teach engaging Design and Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students grow in creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills. The curriculum is broad and well-planned, with room to lean into your specialism where possible.

You’ll be:

• Planning and delivering high-quality DT lessons that bring the curriculum to life
• Creating a positive classroom where students feel confident to try, test, and learn
• Using varied teaching strategies and tools to keep lessons purposeful and engaging
• Adapting learning to meet the needs of all students
• Tracking progress and using assessment to shape next steps
• Working closely with colleagues to keep teaching consistent and creative
• Promoting strong behaviour for learning and building respectful relationships

What we’re looking for

• UK QTS, or working towards it if you’re an ECT
• A genuine enthusiasm for practical learning and Design and Technology
• Strong relationship-building skills with students and colleagues
• A reflective mindset and willingness to keep developing
• High expectations and a commitment to inclusive education

What you’ll get through Protocol Education

• Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies
• FREE access to our online CPD Academy
• Support from a dedicated local consultant who actually picks up the phone
• Roles in schools that match your values
• A smooth, straightforward registration process

If you’re an ECT, this is a brilliant chance to start your career in a department that understands mentoring, structure, and steady confidence-building. If you’re experienced, it’s an opportunity to bring your expertise to a school that genuinely values it.
