Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and innovative Food Technology curriculum
  • Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on activities for students
  • Assess and evaluate student progress in Food Technology projects
  • Maintain a safe and organised Food Tech workshop environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular opportunities

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Design Technology or related field
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design Technology, Food Science, or a related field
  • Postgraduate certificate in Education (PGCE) is desirable

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Food Technology
  • Proven track record of student achievement and progress

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students in Food Tech projects
  • Proficiency in using a variety of kitchen equipment and tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment design

Working Conditions:

  • Regular working hours, Monday to Friday
  • Work primarily in a Food Tech workshop and classroom setting
  • Potential exposure to kitchen-related hazards
