Full Time

As a Design & Technology Technician you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic staff in delivering effective and safe teaching to pupils aged 7-18. Your responsibilities will include maintaining teaching areas, stockrooms, and preparation areas, ensuring a clean and orderly environment. Additionally, you will assist staff and pupils with practical work, manage stock levels, and coordinate external repair and maintenance of equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain teaching areas, stockrooms, and preparation areas to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

Manage stock levels by recommending needed supplies and keeping accurate records.

Assist academic staff and pupils with practical work and the preparation of materials.

Perform regular servicing and maintenance of equipment and machinery.

Liaise with external agencies for repair and maintenance tasks.

Design and construct models, teaching aids, and apparatus.

Prepare rooms and materials for lessons, demonstrations, and exhibitions.

Ensure the safety of equipment and materials through regular checks and safety audits.

Promote and adhere to the School’s Health & Safety and Child Protection policies.

Qualifications and Attributes:

Experience in a manufacturing/workshop environment.

Proficiency in using tools and machinery across multiple material categories.

Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for spreadsheet management.

Motivated to learn new skills and stay updated on advancements in software and machinery.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
