Protocol Education are seeking an Art & Design Technology Technician for one of our client schools in Tower Hamlets, starting immediately.

About the Art & DT Technician role:
 
 
• As directed by the teaching team, prepare and supply all teaching aids, resources, and practical equipment.
• Making sure that all tools, glasses, and solutions are maintained properly in accordance with industry standards and the department's safety policy. This includes labeling any chemicals, providing hazard information papers, and keeping a supply of distilled water available.
• Examining equipment, first-aid kits, conducting electrical, ventilation, and other safety inspections, etc.
• As needed, collaborating with and helping teachers in designing and creating activities to aid student advancement
• Work with the teaching team in Art & Design Technology to give students skill and technique demonstrations that match curriculum standards.
• Monitoring inventory and sourcing art supplies as needed
• Making sure that the Health & Safety at Work Act is being followed in the maintenance of all workplaces and storage areas The successful Art & DT Technician will:
• Have work experience as a Art & Design & Technology Technician at school and supporting pupils in a classroom environment
• Have an approach to health and safety that is responsible and diligent
• Have solid expertise in the fields of design and technology
• Have good behaviour management skills; able to meet deadlines.
• Must have an enhanced child workforce DBS or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
