Bring ideas to life, spark imagination and help young people discover what they can make with their own hands. We’re looking for a creative and confident Design and Technology teacher who can turn classrooms into workshops full of curiosity and possibility.

You’ll be joining a friendly Wakefield secondary school that values fresh thinking, practical problem solving and lessons that feel purposeful. Students here genuinely enjoy getting stuck in, so your flair for building, designing and experimenting will go down a treat.

What you’ll be doing

  • Planning and delivering engaging DT lessons that blend creativity with real-world skills

  • Encouraging students to explore materials, tools and techniques safely and confidently

  • Creating a classroom environment where every child feels welcome and ready to try something new

  • Working collaboratively with a supportive team who share your passion for hands-on learning

What we’re looking for

  • A qualified DT teacher or an experienced instructor with strong subject knowledge

  • Someone who can bring energy, warmth and clarity to their teaching

  • An educator who believes practical subjects can change the way young people see themselves and their futures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
