The role

As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities available for suitable candidates)

  • Deliver practical, well-structured lessons in line with health and safety requirements

  • Support pupils in developing design, making, and evaluation skills

  • Use a range of strategies to engage learners of mixed abilities, including those with SEND

  • Maintain a positive, safe, and purposeful workshop environment

  • Assess progress and provide clear, constructive feedback

  • Work collaboratively within the DT department and wider staff team

Specialisms such as Resistant Materials, Product Design, Graphics, Engineering, or Food Technology are welcomed.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)

  • Has experience teaching DT in UK secondary schools

  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and confident classroom management

  • Has a clear understanding of health & safety in practical settings

  • Is committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding

  • Is adaptable, reliable, and professional

  • Is happy to work PAYE, with clear and transparent pay

This role is suitable for ECTs, experienced teachers, and those returning to the profession.

Pay & Contract

  • £163–£265.92 per day, depending on experience

  • Weekly PAYE pay – no umbrella companies, no hidden deductions

  • Long-term and day-to-day supply opportunities available, with potential for continuity
