A lively and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for a confident and enthusiastic Cover Teacher for Drama for a full-time, short-term role starting this September. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who values the power of performance and creative expression to keep students engaged and progressing in the absence of their regular teacher.

You’ll deliver pre-prepared lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 Drama students, encouraging participation, collaboration, and creativity while maintaining a structured and focused learning environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-set Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Support students in developing performance skills, confidence, and teamwork

  • Create a safe and inclusive environment for expression and creativity

  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a productive atmosphere

  • Record attendance and report any issues or concerns to relevant staff

  • Be open to covering other subjects if needed


You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Have experience working in a secondary school or education-related setting

  • Have a background in Drama, Theatre Studies, or Performing Arts

  • Are confident leading group activities and managing dynamic classrooms

  • Communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and encourage student participation

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to apply for one)

  • Are passionate about creativity, confidence-building, and inclusive education
