Cover Teacher

What the role involves as a Cover Supervisor
You’ll teach pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, year groups and schools. Your role is to maintain a positive learning environment, provide clear explanations and ensure each class continues to progress in the teacher’s absence.
This is ideal for teachers who enjoy adaptable work, want experience in a range of settings or are building towards a permanent role.
Your key responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor
- Delivering teacher-prepared lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Keeping learning structured, calm and purposeful
- Managing behaviour positively and consistently
- Building rapport with pupils and adapting to different school environments
- Communicating with staff about the lessons you’ve covered
- Bringing enthusiasm and professionalism to every classroom
What we’re looking for in a Cover Supervisor
- QTS and experience teaching in secondary schools
- A confident, adaptable teaching style
- Strong classroom management skills
- A positive communicator who can quickly build relationships
- Someone open to travelling within the Northeast
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
