Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Cover Teacher to join our team in the education and training industry. As a Cover Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing temporary teaching cover in the absence of regular teachers. This role will require you to teach in a variety of schools.

Job Duties

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons to students in the absence of regular teachers.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for students.
  • Follow the school's policies and procedures.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain discipline.
  • Assist students with their academic and personal development.
  • Provide feedback to regular teachers regarding students' progress and behaviour.
  • Supervise students during break times and other non-teaching periods.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and strategies.
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Good organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a similar role.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Thorough understanding of educational principles and practises.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and software.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or a relevant subject area.
  • Additional certifications or training in specific subject areas.

Working Conditions

The Cover Teacher will work in an educational setting, such as a primary or secondary school. The role may involve standing for extended periods, interacting with students and staff, and adapting to different classroom environments. Part-time hours will be assigned based on the school's needs, and there may be occasional requirements to work outside regular school hours.

The salary for this position is £120 - £160 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
