Job Duties:

  • Supervise and manage students in a classroom setting, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure student engagement and understanding.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Support students with special needs by providing appropriate assistance and accommodations.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of different Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
  • Demonstrate professional presence and act as a role model for students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working in secondary schools
  • Experience supporting children with special needs
  • Good knowledge of the National British Curriculum

Education:

  • No specific educational requirements, but a relevant educational background is preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Ability to deliver lesson plans effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use initiative and make independent decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching assistant qualification
  • Additional training in behaviour management or special educational needs

Working Conditions:

  • Temporary position
  • Expected to work full-time hours
  • May require access to a car or ability to use public transport
  • May involve working with students with challenging behaviours

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
