Protocol Education is recruiting on behalf of a high-performing, Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ secondary school in the London Borough of Enfield. The school is seeking a proactive and resilient Cover Supervisor to join their support team on a full-time basis.

This role is ideal for aspiring teachers who are considering a PGCE or Schools Direct pathway and would like to gain valuable, hands-on classroom experience in a supportive and well-organised school setting.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring learning continues smoothly and behaviour remains positive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy

  • Maintaining a calm, safe, and focused learning environment

  • Supporting students to remain on task and engaged

  • Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and student behaviour

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A degree-level qualification (preferred) or strong A-levels

  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, sports coaching, youth work, volunteering)

  • Confidence, resilience, and a calm classroom presence

  • The right to work in the UK

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
