If you enjoy working with young people or you’re thinking about teacher training and want real classroom experience first, this flexible role could be a great fit.
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step in when teachers are away and help keep lessons flowing. Everything’s planned for you, so you can focus on the important bits: staying calm, keeping pupils engaged, and bringing a friendly, confident presence into the room.
You’ll be doing things like:
• Supervising lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Keeping behaviour steady and positive, in line with school policies
• Supporting pupils, including those with additional needs
• Using pre-set work to keep learning on track
What we’re looking for
• Right to work in the UK (passport or BRP plus share code)
• An Overseas Police Check if you’ve lived abroad
• Experience with young people, whether in schools, coaching, youth work, mentoring or similar
• Clear communication, confidence, and a calm approach
• Someone who can think on their feet and stay professional under pressure
Nice to have, not essential
• Training or qualifications in education or child development

• Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella faff
• Free access to our CPD Academy to build your skills
• A local consultant who knows Telford’s schools inside out
• A mix of roles across secondary settings
