We’re looking for confident, adaptable Cover Supervisors to support a group of secondary schools across Shrewsbury.
These are community-centred schools that put respect, ambition and opportunity at the heart of everything they do. Staff work hard to create safe, welcoming spaces where pupils can grow academically and personally, and where every day is a chance to move forward. You’ll be joining schools that want their young people to feel confident, valued and ready to take on the world.

If you enjoy working with young people or you’re thinking about teacher training and want real classroom experience first, this flexible role could be spot on.

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into lessons when teachers are away and keep learning moving. Everything’s planned for you, so your role is to bring calm, energy and a steady presence in the classroom.

You’ll be:
• Delivering pre-set work
• Keeping behaviour calm and consistent
• Helping pupils stay engaged
• Building positive relationships with students and staff

Your day-to-day might include:
• Supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies
• Supporting pupils, including those with additional needs
• Using ready-made lesson plans to keep lessons flowing

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
• Right to work in the UK (passport or BRP plus share code)
• An Overseas Police Check if you’ve lived abroad
• Experience with young people, such as schools, coaching, mentoring or youth work
• A confident, clear communication style
• A calm, professional approach when things get busy

Bonus points, not essential:
• Training or qualifications linked to education or child development

What you’ll get with Protocol Education:
• Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella faff
• Free access to our CPD Academy
• Support from a local consultant who knows Telford schools inside out
• A mix of roles across local secondary settings
• Clear routes into long-term positions and teacher training

Reliable travel around Telford is important for this role.
