Protocol Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious, Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' secondary school in the London Borough of Barnet. We are seeking a proactive and resilient Cover Supervisor to join their support team immediately.

This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring teachers to gain valuable classroom experience in a high-achieving environment before embarking on PGCE or Schools Direct training.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be the lead adult in the classroom in the absence of the class teacher. Your main priority is to ensure that students are engaged in their learning and to manage behaviour effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects (Key Stage 3 & 4).

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.

  • Ensuring a positive and safe learning environment.

  • Collating completed work and reporting back on student engagement to the regular teacher.

  • Note: No active planning, preparation, or marking is required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:

  • Education: A degree level qualification (preferred) or strong A-Levels.

  • Experience: Previous experience working with youth (e.g., tutoring, sports coaching, youth work, or voluntary school experience).

  • Attitude: Confidence, resilience, and a strong presence in the classroom.

  • Legal: The right to work in the UK and a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
