Job Duties:

  • Supervising students in the absence of a teacher
  • Managing the classroom and ensuring a positive learning environment
  • Following lesson plans provided by the absent teacher
  • Dealing with any behavioural issues that may arise
  • Reporting back on student progress to the relevant staff

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle challenging situations effectively

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher education qualification in a relevant subject area
  • Teaching Assistant qualification
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Working hours may vary based on the school's schedule

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
