The role
A well-established secondary school in Northumberland is seeking a Cover Supervisor to deliver pre-set lessons across KS3–KS5. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff looking to gain further classroom experience in a structured and supportive environment.
You will be responsible for supervising whole classes during teacher absence, ensuring pupils remain on task and that the school’s behaviour policies are upheld consistently.

Key responsibilities

Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects

Manage classroom behaviour effectively

The ideal candidate

Experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, tutoring, etc.)

Confident leading a classroom independently

Strong communication and behaviour management skills

Organised, reliable and professional

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
