The role

We are working with a large, academically focused secondary school to recruit a Cover Supervisor to provide classroom supervision during teacher absences. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff looking to gain further secondary school experience.

You’ll ensure lessons run smoothly, manage behaviour, and support learning in line with school policies.

£110 – £140 per day | PAYE | Depending on experience

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise classes during teacher absence across KS3–KS5

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions

  • Maintain a calm, focused learning environment

  • Manage pupil behaviour in line with school policies

  • Liaise with teaching and pastoral staff as needed

The ideal candidate

  • Confident working with secondary-aged students

  • Professional, reliable, and adaptable

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Previous school experience is desirable but not essential

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
