We’re working with secondary schools across Telford and are looking for confident, adaptable Cover Supervisors to step in when teachers are absent and keep the day running smoothly.

It’s a hands-on, classroom-based role that’s ideal if you’re considering a future in teaching, returning to education, or simply want solid school experience without the full teaching workload.

The role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll take charge of the classroom using pre-prepared lesson materials. Everything is planned for you, your role is to bring calm, consistency, and confidence, keeping pupils focused and learning throughout the day.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supervising lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Following school behaviour policies to maintain a positive learning environment

  • Supporting pupils with their work, including those with additional needs

  • Delivering set work clearly and keeping lessons on track

What we’re looking for

  • Right to work in the UK, passport or BRP with share code

  • Overseas Police Check if you’ve lived abroad

  • Experience working with young people, this could be in schools, youth work, sports coaching, tutoring, or similar roles

  • Confident communication and a steady classroom presence

  • A calm, professional approach, even on busy days

Nice to have, but not essential

  • Training or qualifications in education, childcare, or youth work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
