The role
We are working with a well-organised 11–19 secondary school to recruit a Cover Supervisor to provide classroom supervision in the absence of teaching staff. This is a great opportunity for someone confident leading a classroom and supporting learning, particularly those considering a future career in teaching.
You’ll deliver pre-set work, manage behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

Supervise whole classes across KS3–KS5 during teacher absence

Deliver pre-planned lessons and instructions

Maintain a calm, focused learning environment

Manage behaviour in line with school policies

Liaise with teaching and pastoral staff as needed
The ideal candidate

Experience working with young people (education, youth work, coaching, care, etc.)

Confident classroom presence and clear communication

Calm, professional, and adaptable

Strong behaviour management skills

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
