The role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher

Maintain a calm, focused learning environment
-
Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies
-
Support pupils to engage with set work and remain on task
-
Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and behaviour
-
Work across a range of subjects at KS3 and KS4
You will not be expected to plan lessons, but confidence, presence, and consistency in the classroom are essential.
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience working with young people (education, tutoring, youth work, coaching, mentoring, or similar)

Is confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour positively

Communicates clearly and sets firm but fair boundaries

Is adaptable, reliable, and professional
-
Is considering a future in teaching or education, or enjoys working in schools long-term

Is happy to work PAYE, with clear and transparent pay
Previous Cover Supervisor or teaching experience is beneficial, but not essential for the right candidate.
