The Role
We are seeking a specialist who can make complex concepts accessible and exciting. You will be teaching Computer Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 teaching for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons covering core topics such as algorithms, programming (Python/Java), data representation, and cyber security.

Prepare students effectively for GCSE Computer Science examinations.

Inspire students to engage with technology creatively, potentially supporting extra-curricular coding clubs or robotics teams.

Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a focused and safe learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:

Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant PGCE with experience in the UK curriculum.

Education: A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related STEM subject.

Technical Proficiency:

Strong command of text-based programming languages, specifically Python (essential for GCSE).

Knowledge of other languages/tools such as Java, HTML, CSS, or Scratch is highly advantageous.

Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with major exam board specifications (e.g., OCR, AQA, or Edexcel) and confidence in teaching both the theoretical and practical components of the syllabus.

Classroom Management: A proven track record of managing behaviour effectively and inspiring students of mixed abilities.

Commitment: A willingness to contribute to the wider school community, such as running Coding Clubs, eSports teams, or STEM enrichment activities.

Availability: Ready to commit to a full-time role starting in January.

Safeguarding: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
