Complex Needs / SEND Teacher – Gateshead
This rewarding SEND Teacher role in Gateshead is perfect for someone experienced with complex needs, PMLD, or highly individualised learning.
You’ll be part of a nurturing team that puts dignity, independence, and connection at the centre of everything.
In this role you’ll:
• Plan sensory and experiential learning activities
• Support pupils with physical needs, communication challenges, or medical requirements
• Use multi-sensory strategies and structured routines
• Work alongside specialist staff including physios and SALT
• Create a calm, predictable environment
You’ll be a great match if you:
• Have taught PMLD, SLD, or complex needs before
• Are confident adapting lessons to meet individual needs
• Understand sensory communication and alternative learning
• Bring patience, empathy, and gentle encouragement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
