Protocol Education are currently recruiting support assistants from creative backgrounds who are comfortable working with young adults with special needs. This particular college are recruiting support assistants with/without experience who are creatively minded and enjoy working with young people. The role will be working with learners in a creative way, applying your skills that help differentiate the work and enable students to understand and access the work in creative way. As a support assistant you will be working with students in class and on a one-to-one basis, supporting students with numeracy/literacy, assisting in outdoor sessions, developing life skills, and providing emotional support. Whilst you will be supporting students on a one-to-one basis you will also have the opportunity to assist in lessons such as sensory, music, art and employability. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to work outdoors supporting students at local farms, work placements and other non-educational organisations, such  as activities that encourages students to be more aware of life outside of education, helping to prepare them for the next step in their lives.  

The role:

  • Located in Newcastle
  • Full time - Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
