SEND Class Teacher:

Protocol Education are looking for a class teacher to join us from September 2024 on a full time basis.

We work with specialist provisions that have pupils aged 2-19, with a variety of SEND needs such as profound and multiple learning difficulties, speech and language difficulties, moderate additional learning difficulties and autism.

Their aim is to inspire, engage and enrich pupils to equip them for their future. The school has a strong and ambitious vision to create relevant opportunities to build skills and knowledge through an aspirational and personalised curriculum, inspiring meaningful experiences and connections with the wider world.

Key responsibilities in the role include to be responsible for the education and welfare of all pupils within your care, as well as coordinating the development of a subject - unless you are an NQT.

Main duties and responsibilties:

  • To create a child centred purposeful learning environment to stimulate, motivate and fulfil pupil potential in a safe learning environment.
  • To work with children of all ages with a wide range of additional complex needs, including medical needs.
  • Establish a rapport with pupils to develop their social, emotional, physical and intellectual potential and to be a main source of reference for any issues arising relating to their well-being and development.
  • Management of pupil behaviour and support pupils during learning activities, acting as a role model.
  • Promoting teamwork, sharing good practice and supporting colleagues.
  • To support pupils with additional medical needs through tasks such as, but not limited to, administering medication & enteral feeding.

Candidate Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience working in Secondary/Primary school(s).
  • Experience of working with SEND students with a  variety of needs.
  • High level of understading in safeguarding best practice.
  • A good classroom practitioner.
  • Good positive behaviour management.

 

 

Start date: Tuesday 4th September

Hours: 08:15 - 03:30

Salary: Dependant on experience

Location: BS10

Contract: Full time. Opportunity to go temp to perm.
