Chemistry Teacher

If you enjoy teaching hands-on science and want to inspire pupils to think like chemists, this Chemistry Teacher position in Sunderland could be ideal. The secondary school is looking for someone energetic, organised and confident in delivering both practical and theory-based chemistry lessons.

What you’ll be teaching as a Chemistry Teacher

You’ll deliver Chemistry across KS3 and KS4, helping students understand reactions, patterns, structures and the role chemistry plays in everyday life. The department is collaborative, well-resourced and committed to high-quality science education.

Your main duties as a Chemistry Teacher

  • Planning and teaching effective Chemistry lessons
  • Leading practical investigations safely and confidently
  • Preparing pupils for assessments and exam requirements
  • Providing constructive feedback to support progress
  • Working closely with colleagues across the science team

You’ll be a strong match as a Chemistry Teacher if you

  • Hold QTS with a Chemistry specialism

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
