If you’re someone who naturally looks out for others and wants a role where your kindness genuinely matters, this could be the perfect next step for you.
We’re supporting a wonderful specialist setting in Durham that’s looking for a Care Support Worker to join their team. You’ll be helping young people with additional needs feel safe, valued and supported in their day-to-day routines. No two days look the same, but every single one makes an impact.
What you’ll be doing
-
Providing care, supervision and emotional support to young people with additional needs
-
Helping pupils with daily routines, communication and independence skills
-
Building steady, trusting relationships with young people who rely on calm, consistent adults
-
Working closely with teachers, therapists and SEN teams to keep support consistent
-
Encouraging confidence, celebrating milestones and being a reassuring presence
-
Keeping the environment safe, positive and predictable
What we’re looking for
-
A warm, patient person who communicates well and stays calm under pressure
-
Someone who’s caring, reliable and genuinely wants to help young people thrive
-
Experience in care, SEN, support work, youth work or similar roles is helpful, not essential
-
A team player who’s flexible, steady and confident with safeguarding
-
Someone ready to learn new skills and grow in the role
If you’ve worked in residential care, supported living, schools, youth work or personal care before, you’ll settle right in. If you’re new to the field but have the right attitude and heart for the role, we’d still love to hear from you.
