We’re working with care services across Gateshead who are looking for compassionate, reliable people to support adults with additional needs. You don’t need years of experience, just kindness, patience and a genuine interest in helping others live safely and confidently.

What you’ll be doing

Your days will be varied and meaningful, supporting residents with:

  • daily routines, personal care and independence

  • emotional reassurance during tougher moments

  • activities that build confidence, communication and wellbeing

  • gentle, patient support for those with autism, learning disabilities or complex needs

  • working with a team who care about getting things right

You’ll be a steady, familiar face who helps create a safe and warm environment.

You’ll suit this role if you’re:

  • calm, caring and good at listening

  • patient and able to stay steady when things feel challenging

  • interested in people and how to support them well

Experience in care, youth work, support work or SEN schools is helpful, but not essential. The right attitude matters most.

  • A supportive consultant who checks in and actually listens

  • Flexible roles and long-term opportunities
